Akerman has a long history of public service and corporate citizenship that stems from a deep commitment to serve as allies and advocates in our communities. Our philanthropic efforts focus on causes we feel are important, worthwhile, and vital - particularly in the areas of education and youth development. The firm addresses critical social issues through community partnerships, employee volunteerism, pro bono service, and by collaborating with clients to expand the reach of shared purpose-driven initiatives.
Doing Good. Giving Back.
To maximize our impact in the communities we serve, Akerman has intensified its community engagement through the Akerman Give Back Campaign. The initiative is a collective effort by firm lawyers and staff to support common organizations that share Akerman's philanthropic focus. Community Impact Teams comprised of Akerman professionals across our network of offices help drive local charitable efforts.
Giving Youth a Voice.
Akerman's Give Back Campaign brings awareness to abused and neglected youth in America who need a voice through an unprecedented national partnership with the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association for Children and their local CASA and Guardian ad Litem (GAL) programs. Akerman is the first law firm to partner nationally with CASA in all of our markets to recruit volunteers, raise critical funding, and increase awareness of the over 600,000 youth that enter foster care or family court each year without someone to represent them.
